The Fix: Impressive...YES; Innovative...???
Here is a really interesting one for you - The Fix by Q! You're probably not used to seeing me with such a modern looking firearm, but The Fix by Q is quite a conventional bolt action despite its strikingly futuristic appearance. The Fix by Q, with its cool design and unforgettable muzzle brake, is definitely worth having a look at.

Two of the BEST Bolt Actions EVER MADE

Today I show two of the best bolt action rifles ever - the Sako Finnbear and the Tikka 65. Good idea - although with some firearms one has to look from the muzzle; which can lead to other problems in the field. I guess what happens is in the excitement of the hunt, people are actively shooting and don't notice that they dropped the wrong shell in. If they were cleaning or thinking - they might check the bore. Probably the best is to run a cleaning rod if the bore can't be examined from the chamber end. Yet few would do this in the seconds or minutes between in coming flights of birds. Still - you're right. Many say if you're shooting a 12 don't carry any other gauge of shell with you. All the best.

    I own a Remington Mohawk with the magazine.. One of the issues with them is the magazine retaining flat spring that holds it in place deforms after awhile and no longer hold the mag in place. Luckily there is or was a video on UA-cam showing how to disassemble the rifle. So I did that and bebt the spring back into position and it works well again.

    I recently picked up one of these minus the stock. It's just the barreled Browning barreled action in 458wm. My question to you is what stocks will fit it? On the bottom of the barrel under the rear sight. It has a lug with a screw in it. Do I need a stock with that cut out on it

    • @UnitedStatesOfGuns
      @UnitedStatesOfGuns 2 дні тому

      Depending on how perfect you'd like the fit to be - you can use a Mauser stock; but barrel fitting and floorplate etc... as well. Plenty of Dremel, chisel, rasp time involved. I didn't install a screw in the forend and nothing bad happened. The factory was concerned about recoil and stock breakage owing to the recoil. I would make the recess and epoxy bed the lug at least. Best would be to find a Safari stock - but you know that. These types of projects are always a lot more work then one thinks IMHO

    I just bought a Mark V synthetic chambered in .375 H&H. It was made in Japan and it’s serial # is 250,000+. The barrel doesn’t say what model of Mark V it is. Just Mark V. It came with a 3X9-40 Sightron scope also made in Japan. Any information on this rifle would be appreciated sir. It weighs with the scope 9.2 lbs. My first serious hunting rifle was an M77 Mk2 RSI just like that, in .30-06. Another wonderful action, but while mine was initially quite accurate the stock warped and accuracy declined. That very thin barrel didn't help. After several attempts at glass bedding it I eventually gave it to a friend.

    • @UnitedStatesOfGuns

      They're very fine; yet you're experience is not uncommon. I had a similar situation and borrowed a solution from my Browning BBR. I milled out a groove in the warped full forend and imbedded an aluminum mini I beam in epoxy for as much of the length of the wood that fit. No more warping. It was even lighter. Not for everyone - this kind of work. I'm sure you bought something more stable. Thanks for the note.

    Very informative. The Fix just doesn't do it for me A design that's a bit too extreme, not a fan of the "stock", such as it is, and the bolt handle does not seem to be particularly ergonomic. For $3,300 MSRP I am certain there are a number of rifles that will have more appeal to me. But, too each their own...
